STEALTH ADVENTURES WITH ANNA AND SEAN
Any cafe with 24 hours on the sign is legit :)
AC -
Get ready for a full day of Tokyo. I’m jet lagged and delirious but fighting through it. It’s so nice to have the convenience of Lawsons and Family Marts around every corner again. I need to rehydrate after that flight ASAP.
Temps are supposed to be really warm mid day and I’m over here packed for winter haha. At least I’m prepared for night time adventures?
SS - I’m fighting tremendous jet lag lol. Woke up at 1130pm in a complete daze and asked Anna, is it 1130am!? I had only collapsed for 1 hour and a half.
Stephanie: “I witnessed a ghetto fight between an employee and boss at the Newark food court I ordered my breakfast sandwich from“
Shinjuku Night Recap
We went down Piss Alley and had fried skewers! It was smoky, and tasty. Very lively and quaint.
Food Recap
I like donuts. I went to Mr Donut! Wonderful. Yummy sizzling skillets, and Anna’s stress salty Ramen.
Landmarks :)
Shinjuku! It’s like NY Times at night choose your adventure :)
Day 1 Live Blog! The parties have made it!
“I’m so ready… plane and simple” - Joseph Wargo
Parents team 1 LAX have made it! Bride & Groom team 2 have made it!
Adrenaline is high and excitement is up in the air! The LA crew made it without a hitch, except for team Kaelyn, Ron and Fang who were DELAYED at the MSP airport due to snowstorms. What a rollercoaster. After boarding, and re-boarding! They made it to LA at 12-1am.
Team Vegas made it without a hitch, with great Thai food and In-n-out.
Team Bride & Groom arrived in SJC to see Richard and Jia - We had dinner with an old friend from Xbox! An Italian dinner before the big japan flight.
Stephanie is ready to go! So overprepared, she bought double Wi-Fi’s!
10 hour flights here we go :) Team Whitney and Eric fly out tomorrow, with Ba and Cecilia scheduled for Friday.
Anna: through the glitches the first crew has persevered. This Zipair experience is fairly pleasant and no frills. The seats are pretty standard and the flight attendants were very nice, The only awkward part is a lack of drink service unless you’ve purchased a meal or bought something a la cart. We started the flight by watching the latest Last of Us episodes, which was pretty scary. Then I took a nap while Sean did some video editing from the half marathon.
I ordered a salmon meal, which was surprisingly enjoyable for plane food. It reminded me of a light IKEA meal.
The Wi-Fi is just ok on this flight. Enough to load emails and send texts, but downloading sent images appears to be a struggle.
We had to survive on a bottle of water that came with my meal for the whole flight, plus a snack bag of Cheetos that Sean brought in his backpack. Send hydration plz
I’ve also been talking to the airport transfer car company via WeChat in Chinese. I don’t think I wrote anywhere in the booking that I speak Chinese, but they must’ve assumed since I had a WeChat profile. This person’s profile photo is a little sumo cartoon with a thumbs up :D
Meanwhile team MSP spent their time knitting, napping, and watching Crazy Rich Asians. As dad says: “I was so touched this time [watching Crazy Rich Asiana] because I am now so understanding it the meaning behind and Chinese culture
Much love all, S&A
